summer loving

Summer, for me, is really long holiday, marked by clear skies and hot weather, stretching into the expanse of the next year and beyond. Since exams, I have taken a break, taking the opportunity to do lazy things like watch Secret Diary of a Call Girl (my new guilty pleasure), read my backlog of magazines and paint my nails. (I do work, sporadically, don't worry.)

So I think it is time to use my freedom to get stuff done. The following are a few things I want to do... a to-list thrown in with a bit of goal-making. I will be expanding upon some of these soon.

1. Read some classics novels... Ulysses, Anna Karenina.

2. Run.

3. Write a chunk of my novel.

4. Move out of home with Andy (hopefully, probably).

5. Watch Love My Way.

6. Try Bikram yoga.

7. Write a screenplay.

8. Do some sort of Julie and Julia-esque challenge with my newly arrived copy of Stephanie Alexander's The Cook's Companion.

9. Save for a holiday to Ubud, Bali in July for a friend's wedding.

10. Celebrate my 7 year anniversary with Andy.

11. Perfect a morning routine.

12. Secure a work experience stint for 2011.

13. Play around with watercolour painting.

14. Build the framework for a freelance makeup artistry business (on the side).

15. Read a book in French.

That's all! What are your plans for the summer?

Oh 7 years and you guys haven't moved in together. I'd go bonkers, nothing better than having a sleep over with your best friend everynight!

Aw, I love this list, Laura! All I can dream about when I think of summer is long walks across the beach, and fresh fruit.. mmmmmmm.

Thank you Corrine!

Amy - We are both students so moving out hasn't been an option! Rent is very expensive here in Perth, unfortunately. So we will be broke but I think it is time...

Firstly, we have a lot in common. I am a 20-year-old writer/student/cosmetician living in Perth, and I'm obsessed with making these lists.

I've watched Love My Way about 3 times all the way through. Beautiful, unerrated drama.

Some of my holiday goals are:
1. Save up to move to Melbourne with my boyfriend.
2. Bake up a storm of vegan cookies and cakes.
3. Keep the fun times rolling at Lush and the Art Gallery gift shop (my two jobs).
4. Establish some sort of morning routine.
5. See friends who have been drowned by assignments all semester.
6. Read Peppermint and Frankie and blogs, write on my own blog once a week, and try try try to get something creative down on paper.
7. Get to the coast!

Love the blog!

As it is Christmas soon my goals are thus:

1. Finish ALL my large final papers.
2. Breathe a large sigh of relief.
3. Build a snow fort/blanket fort/any fort as long as it has walls and a ceiling...
4. ... read something of substance inside my fort.
5. Christmas shop!
wait... that means I need...
6. Money. Earn some.
7. Kiss the boyfriend on the mouth more often.
8. Find a yoga studio that is open over the holidays.
9. Find all the hidden christmas decorations and finally trim the tree.
10. Make the best mixtape of 2010 and send it to everyone I love as my Christmas card.
11. Enjoy each second as its own second and not rush on to the next. UNLESS I'm still writing papers... I really need to get that done.

Oh gosh, I could keep going.
